Aki Wang opened Indulge on a quiet Da'an lane in spring 2010 — narrow ground floor with a herb garden at the door, a purple-lit bar deep enough to hold court, a basement private room below. Fifteen years in, it has been a regular on Asia's 50 Best ever since the list reached Taipei, and on The World's 50 Best as far back as 2019. The room is co-authored: Aki at the bar, Grace running the wine programme, with the visual language — Renaissance sketches, charcoal paper, copper-plate printing — built around the seasonal menus.
The drinks programme runs on a four-elements concept — sun, air, water, earth — with new cocktails introduced each season. The house mojito is the one constant: oak-aged rum, red cane sugar crystals settled at the bottom of the glass, and the drink Aki gets asked about more than any other. Food and drink share the same kitchen and the same intent — modern European plates built on Taiwanese ingredients, plated to be eaten alongside the cocktail in your hand, not after it.
The before-9PM "Feast & Sip Pairing" — a NT$500 food minimum unlocks NT$999 free-flow on house wines, whisky highballs, gin tonics and the bartender's rotating signatures — is the move if you want to taste through both sides without thinking about it. The bistro added daytime service in 2025, a rare move for a top-5 Asia bar; the downstairs room takes parties up to 36 with a flat all-inclusive package.
